Halloween hits Art Across The City

Halloween is here and Art Across The City is celebrating with lots of spooky half term free activities for children and adults.

The Art Across The City info hub on Oxford Street, Swansea will have Halloween mask making based upon Jock Mooney’s Swansea Kebab in Castle Gardens. Mooney’s work itself will be transformed into a celebration of Swansea and Halloween, with Bonnie Tyler, The Swansea Devil and Swansea Jack all getting a spooky makeover.

Children are invited to enter a drawing competition, inventing magical birds who could live in Joanne Tatham & Tom O’Sullivan’s rainbow patterned shelters on Museum Green. Artist materials donated by Play Right are available as prizes. There are also storytelling workshops at Swansea Museum on Tuesday 30th and Wednesday 31st (10-12 / 1-3pm booking is advised)

Daniel Edwards, Steven Bailey and Trystan Jones check out the Halloween version of Jock Mooney’s Swansea Kebab.

Guided tours are available to see all the artworks including Fiona Curran’s work in St Marys Church gardens. David Marchant’s grotesque neon will light up people trick or treaters on Wind Street and you can play as the devil himself on David Blandy’s The Devil meets Dylan Thomas in our info hub.

You are invited to take pictures dressed in their Halloween costumes alongside the Art Across The City works and post them to Facebook and Twitter.
