Art Across The City is an exciting public art programme designed and delivered by LOCWS International, an artist-led charity based in the City of Swansea. LOCWS International commissions international and UK-based artists to create new contemporary artworks for accessible public spaces across the city. A broad range of artworks are produced from sculpture, painting and installation to performance and film and each is inspired by an aspect of the city’s culture, heritage, architecture, people or landscape.

The Art Across The City programme offers a very different way for people to engage with contemporary art with new and inspiring artworks created for popular public spaces such as shopping centres, bus stations and museums, giving everybody the chance to see and experience contemporary art without having to enter an art gallery.

Alongside Art Across The City, LOCWS International runs a popular Outreach and Education Programme that offers the opportunity for people of all ages and backgrounds to take part in educational workshops, events, competitions and the art making process. The programme also includes LOCWS Schools, a popular participatory education project that sees young people learn about contemporary art and culture and make their own artworks for public exhibitions.
